Well yeah, golf has made changes to attempt to speed up play

I can't think of many things less gratifying than watching the batter step out of the box to check his wristband after every pitch. I am pretty much a traditionalist myself but there are things that be done to increase the pace of play that "don't F with baseball".
Very few people can devote 4 hours to watching a game. Baseball has already lost a couple of generations of fans so, yeah, if you're content to let it die then don't change a thing. It still works for us old farts with nothing but time on our hands.
My adult sons grew up as baseball fans. They still occasionally attend a game at the ballpark, but will not watch one on tv because of the pace and length of games. As in life, evolve or die.
